Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I see over a hundred students on a typical day. They come into art eager to try new things and share their experiences with others. Their excitement is contagious and I end up wanting to learn more too. With technology in our classroom, our learning can reach its fullest potential.
We are a Title I school in an urban area, serving grades K-8.
Many of our students do not have access to art materials or technology at home, so using these things in school is a treat. They love trying new mediums and techniques. Our students are excited to have the opportunity to share their work and creativity with others and are interested in exploring the diverse personal experiences that each student brings.
My Project
With a projector in the classroom, students will be able to watch digital presentations of art. Viewing examples of how artists from different times and cultures convey the human experience is extremely important. We can watch videos, look at pictures and even take virtual museum tours with a projector. (Most of the students have never been to a museum and with a projector the whole class could take a virtual field trip!)
A document camera in the classroom would allow us to share student work and provide a way of doing live demonstrations so everyone can see. Students will greatly benefit from being able to view everything more clearly, from written objectives to images and demonstrations.
Students will gain a better understanding of the world around them with these devices in the classroom.
We will have the opportunity to use technology to improve our knowledge of art and art history. Being able to view information from endless sources can help build a foundation for success in school and beyond.
