My students need devices in their hands to become more creative and sophisticated content creators. An iPad will give them the chance to make their learning their own.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
At an arts high school, you'd think students would have the tools to not just perform and create, but curate their work. Our students come from a low-income area and have not been given the tools needed to capture performances, create movies, slideshows, and other multimedia presentations.
I teach all the 9th graders in a small school that integrates the arts into the standard curriculum.
We have classes of 25-35 students, and they are engaging in an innovative flipped learning environment. However, technology limits the amount of arts integration that is possible. When students are allowed to be creative and encouraged to explore a topic, real learning happens. The requested iPad would help us capture those moments and share them with the world.
My Project
We are requesting one iPad to capture student performances and projects. This iPad would allow students to make beautifully edited and curated content. By using programs like Splice, PuppetPals, iMovie Trailers, and LiveScribe, students will put together professional quality videos that can transform their learning into hands-on PBL products.
This is important because our students have so little access to technology and are falling behind their peers from higher-income areas.
My students are passionate, innovative, and creative. This will help them be even more passionate, innovative, and creative.
