This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 7th grade students at a science, technology, engineering and mathematics magnet middle school. Our school serves students who live in high poverty households. Ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. My goal is to help mold my students into life-long learners.

My students are seventh and eighth graders in downtown Indianapolis.

Our school is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics magnet effectively serving students who live in high poverty households. Ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Through innovative programs, we are showing some of the most rapid growth in the state as measured by standardized test score improvement.

My Project

My students would use the glue sticks and markers on projects and for their new interactive notebooks. One way to maximize instructional time is to have students glue guided notes, graphic organizers, and foldable activities into their notebooks to reference and utilize when needed. They would use the markers for various assignments and projects, as well as in their interactive notebooks.

My students will comprehend and retain our English Language Arts skills and basic note-taking skills better with the use of the interactive notebooks.

By providing glue sticks and markers, my students will be able to fully utilize all that the interactive notebooks have to offer. Most of my students cannot afford all of their own school supplies so this project provides them with a necessary tool. Your generosity helps to contribute to the shaping of our future leaders.
