"Is it time for literacy centers?" "Can I go to the puzzles center?" My students' favorite time of the day is when they learn and play together in literacy centers.
The Kindergarten students in my classroom attend a Title I school in Virginia.
They began this year at various levels, and I need many different materials so I may continue to challenge all of them. My students love hands-on materials and working together.
My Project
Our classroom needs more hands-on literacy materials that students can use in small groups or independently to review concepts that have already been introduced. The students will play phonics games, stamp simple words and pictures, practice reading with rhyming books, and make words with letter beads. These resources will help students develop literacy skills kinesthetically, while having fun.
This is my second year teaching Kindergarten.
Donations to my classroom will be used this year and hopefully for many, many years to come. Please help my students start their school lives off with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge, and a love for reading and writing.
