My Students

"I want every girl, every child, to be educated." Malala Yousafzai is the most recent Nobel Peace Prize winner. She is an inspiring figure to my students, because she shows them that anyone, anywhere can make a difference, regardless of age or background.

My students are amazing young people who need to be exposed to interesting and current nonfiction.

Malala's story is one that matters to everyone, but her message is especially important for students. I believe that my students will be amazed by how Malala, an ordinary person, was able to make such a huge difference. Many of my students have special needs, so this edition for young people will be a great addition to my classroom.

My Project

While reading Malala's story, each student will pick a past Nobel Peace Prize winner. My students will then research and write a report on their chosen individual. Students will get a chance to learn about winners from various cultures, and know more about the causes these winners championed. I can't think of better role models for my students than people like Nelson Mandela, Elie Wiesel, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King Jr.

Thank you for sharing Malala's passion, that every child should be educated.

I know that my students will enjoy reading Malala's words, and learn important information about past Nobel Peace Prize winners. You make a difference in the lives of children. Thank you.
