Help us save some trees! An ELMO document camera would make a huge difference in the teaching of my students. With this camera, we would not need to make nearly as many copies as we do now. We would be able to share our work and improve our learning environment in all subject areas.
I teach 30 children who are from a very low socioeconomic area.
They are second language learners who have very little access to technology. Many tell me they don't have computers at home. Some of my students live in homeless shelters. They come to school to escape the sad circumstances of their everyday lives. They love to read and write and share their work.
My Project
There are countless activities that I would be able to do with this amazing teaching tool. When I read aloud a story to the class the students would be able to read along with me. I could lead science experiments, enlarge pictures, and even project text and images straight from the computer! No more wasted paper for making charts or photocopies for each student. Best of all, this tool would give the students an opportunity to lead the class, showcase their work, and teach their classmates. What a way to encourage students, boost their confidence, and get them excited about learning. I have access to a projector, but need this visual presenter to enhance my students' experience.
I believe that this piece of equipment will help my students exceed in all areas.
They would be able to share their work with the class, as well as enjoy every minute of their learning about new things. The camera would help the students have fun as they learn. As stated, I have access to a projector, but this camera would make our classroom complete.
