Have you ever spent much time with a 5 or 6 year old? How about 18 of them? If you have, then you are familiar with the challenge of keeping them interested for more than...hmm, 90 seconds! This is a challenge I gladly face every day, especially at circle carpet time.
My students are an enthusiastic group of energetic 5 and 6 year olds.
These all day kindergartners attend a visual and performing arts magnet school. They come from a variety of cultures and backgrounds but share a love for the arts and an excitement for learning.
An all-purpose mobile easel is just what my creative kinders need to keep their minds and hands focused on the learning fun during circle carpet time and center time. My little ones will love the two-sided magnetic write and wipe white board. I'll be able to keep their wiggles at bay during carpet time by capturing their attention using the tray to display big books and charts that correspond with our lessons. During literacy center time, my students will have endless opportunities to write words on the white board, spell and read with magnetic letters, and use the pocket chart ring hangers to create sentences as they build strong literacy foundations. They'll also be able to use the numbered magnets to create and label math stories during math centers. The easel also has a child-level shelf for storing and organizing supplies, books, and math manipulatives for the children to access whenever necessary.
By supporting our project, you will be contributing to the early foundations of literacy, mathematical thinking, and learning in the youngest of students.
My kindergartners will be focused and practicing with these tools every day for years to come. Your gift will help the children in my classroom develop a love for literacy, math, and learning.
