Don't Burst my Bubble! Please Fund my DREAMY Art Project
My students need Gelli Art Printing Plates, Standard Screen Printing Units with Squeegee, Screen Printing Ink, Wistyria Editions Wool Roving and more DREAMY art supplies!
The Expressive Arts classroom is the highlight of our students day. Our students have a rigorous academic load and "Expressions" is their only elective. Students attend Expressions every day and Dreamy Art Materials would help our classroom to be even more engaging and meaningful for all students!
We have an amazingly diverse student body at the our Middle School.
Our students love to come to school every day and for many of them, look back onto their middle school years as their favorite years of their academic career. Some common characteristics among our students include an appreciation for cultural diversity, an understanding of shared leadership, tech savviness, creative problem solving and global thinking. Our students work hard everyday and give up their spare time to give back to their regional and global community through organizations like Project Linus and Students Rebuild. Our students also demonstrate school pride through their involvement with extra curricular activities including sports teams and after school clubs like Chess Cub and Taiko Club.
My Project
Currently in the art room, my students practice basic forms of art- drawing, painting and sculpting. And while these experiences are rich and engaging, there are SO MANY OTHER DREAMY art materials and processes that my students would love to experience!
The Screen Printing Screens and Ink will allow student to create logos for textile designs. The Gelli Plates will allow students to manipulate color, texture and design to create 2-d or mixed media art. The Roving Wool will be used to needle felt in the form of 2-d and 3-d artwork. These DREAMY art processes will add to my students repertoire of creative problem solving skills and lend to more opportunities for my students to express and communicate their ideas.
In addition, I wish to add new materials to the classroom like charcoal and sketchbooks for still life drawing. The addition of metallic paints can allow us to refine our paintings adding highlights and illuminations. New brushes will help with proper paint brush technique.
When you fund this project our students will have the opportunity to create art using DREAMY art materials like screen printing personal logos, mono printing abstract designs and needle felting landscapes- just to name a few!
These experiences will provide students with new skills that can provide a sense of accomplishment, pride, and personal value. These positive outcomes can trigger a mindset within students with the intrinsic motivation to continue to express their ideas through art!
