This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your first time you fell in love with a book? Well, very few of my students have experienced this joy! Will you take part in helping my students fall in love with books?

I teach 6th, 7th, and 8th grade language arts.

My students have various learning disabilities that hinder their fondness for reading. My students struggle in reading, therefore causing them to avoid reading altogether. They need someone to spark the match to ignite their love of reading!

My Project

Often times, my students become discouraged due to their disability. A learning task may seem too difficult and giving up seems like the only option. I believe Winter, the dolphin from Dolphin Tale, can encourage and motivate my students to persevere! By reading Dolphin Tale, students will uncover a dolphin that could have given up, but persevered despite her difficulties.

Your donation will provide students more than just a fantastic book to read, but an unlikely role model as well.

By donating to this project, you will be supplying my classroom with a class set of Dolphin Tale that will enhance students' reading abilities.
