My Project

My students are in need of a Chromebook that can be used for computer science activities and financial literacy.

Wendy Koop, founder of Teach for America, states, "Ensuring that our nation's urban and rural children have the chance to become proficient in computer science is a sure way to set them on a trajectory to great career options.

We need to do this to close the digital divide and level the playing field."

We need to create ambitious computer programming superheroes of tomorrow who will strive to achieve in all areas of technology. We need to break the barriers and "level the playing field," by encouraging young girls to pursue careers in this field. We need all young children to become active participants in this digital world. This Chromebook can also be used to play online games in financial literacy to reinforce financial literacy concepts. Teaching financial responsibility and literacy helps children understand the value of money and the economy. There are many financial literacy lessons and online games for students to engage in. The Chromebook will allow students to learn about financial literacy and be exposed to computer science. Let's welcome in my students’ back to school year with a sparkling Chromebook. I believe coding and teaching financial literacy is a path for everyone. Let's make my vision of creating computer programming and financial literacy superheroes of tomorrow.
