Do you remember listening to stories on tapes and Cd's as a kid? I sure do, but now tapes and CDs are becoming a thing of the past... it's hard to believe! My students love listening to reading, but we need updated technology to do it.
My students live in and attend school in a small, rural community in southwest Michigan.
We love learning, and especially reading! We do reading for a big chunk of our day and listening to reading read fluently is always a favorite activity choice for my enthusiastic readers!
My Project
The materials I have requested will bring 2 iPod Nanos into my classroom. This will allow me to digitally put books on the iPods so students can listen to them and hear fluent reading. Having students hear fluent reading is such a great model and way for them to understand the goal for oral reading fluency!
It is so important to hook my readers with interesting stories and the use of technology makes this even more engaging.
Thank you for helping bring new and better ways of reading into my classroom. Thank you for helping develop my reader leaders!
