Creative Kids Need Art Supplies

My students need art supplies--construction paper crayons, an assortment of pom poms, tacky glue, and oil pastels.

My Students

Every child has an imagination to create. I want to be able to provide a variety of supplies for my students to create their unique artwork and craft projects.

My students are the best.

My third graders come to school eager to learn. I want to provide them the best opportunities and experiences for learning. Many of my students come from homes where both parents are working to try to make end meet. Other students come from single parent homes. Their families often lack the means to provide their children the arts and craft supplies that I am requesting. My school is a Title 1 school in which all students receive free breakfast and lunch due to families’ low income. For the vast majority of my students, school is the only place where they are able to have fun to create works of art and other projects they would otherwise not have the chance to experience.

My Project

Imagination sparks creativity. My students have lots of imagination that I would like for them to use with a wide variety of art and craft projects. The oil pastels, my students would use to create self-portraits as well as artwork based upon several artists' works. With the pom poms and tacky glue my students could create 3-D projects using some supplies that I already have. Students would use the construction paper crayons when creating books, artwork, and cards involving construction paper. The cord would allow me the ease of projecting famous artwork from my stationary desktop computer to my projector.

With your support, my students will be able to explore other means of creativity they might otherwise not have the opportunity to.

They will be able to create pieces that they and their parents will be able to cherish for years to come.
