My students are hungry, not only for snack and lunchtime, but for books that are on their reading level.
My classroom is made up of 20 very different students, each coming from a wide range of home environments.
With this grand diversity, comes diversity in the way that each student learns and reads. Their thirst for knowledge and desire to learn is what keeps me motivated to give them all that I can!
My Project
With these leveled readers, I will be able to make our guided reading time much more meaningful. These books will not only be used during our guided reading small groups, but as part of our 'take-home' book program (which will begin once I have enough leveled readers for each student), and daily during our read-to-self time (where leveled books are used).
Your donation and this project will not only help me improve in my teaching ability, but will allow for reading growth amongst all my students.
Being able to read a book on their reading level will aide in building confidence in each of my students. With confidence comes growth!
