Creating a Riveting Library for my Class of READERS
My students need more current guided reading books to help their reading come alive. These books have amazing themes that will encourage life long readers.
Do you remember reading dry, uninteresting stories with your teacher? Our book room is FULL of those exact same books. I mean those EXACT SAME BOOKS. I am fighting to get my students passionate about reading and I need YOUR HELP to buy them new books that we can use for years.
Our school is a School of Choice school, that means that we have a diverse group of student bussed in to our school to help them learn more effectively.
I have a diverse group of readers ranging from struggling readers to over achieving readers. Our struggle is to find books that challenge and grab the interest of my students. I have created a list of my first batch of books that are hot reads in my grade level. Please help me ignite the passion and fire of reading in my students. I fear that I will lose them to video games if I am unable to expose them to good books.
My Project
With these books I will be able to make books come alive for my students. We will be able to read about adventures in these books that have themes that my students can connect with. With your help we can help these kids see how magical and amazing books can be. We will be able to open up new worlds and expand their comprehension of the stories. When kids are interested in what they are reading, they are invested and they are excited to delve deeper into the books.
These books will not only help my students this year, but I will be able to build up my library to use these books every year.
I will be able to share these books with hundreds of kids each year and help create an army of passionate readers. When students are passionate readers, they see the importance in reading everywhere. They will also grow as readers and be able to, more fully, understand what they are reading in their text books. Help my students grow as readers please!
