Every day I get to create magical futures for over 1,000 students. We discover books that capture their imaginations, conduct science experiments to explore our world, and enjoy learning from each other. We learn everything from accountable talk to tolerance through our fun filled guidance class.
Our school is made up of the most energetic learners around.
Our school is a busy place to be. We are always learning with activities like International Children's Day, Laura Ingalls Wilder Day, Career Day, our Living Wax Museum, and the after school PAWS classes. These anxious learners are ready to read and grow. We have a wonderful population of students that deserve to have their educational experience enhanced through technology.
My Project
By using the document camera we will be able to display the MANY books we read. This will allow all students, especially those with vision problems and those that are fidgety, to see the book/activity at a larger scale. Instead of sitting in small cramped circles where not all students are able to see and participate we will be able to sit comfortably at our desks or around the room. By using the document camera to project we are able to engage our learners on a better, technology driven level.
For example, in this lesson (http://cjayneteach.com/blog/2013/11/18/preventing-invisibility-guest-post/) we use a science experiment to discuss inclusion. This grant would allow every student to see the experiment instead of 20 students crowding around a bowl and potentially missing out. The purchase of a document camera will allow every students to see the fine details in our lessons and participate on a higher level.
Donations for this project will be used for the purchase of a document camera so we are able to engage our learners on a better, technology driven level.
Your donations will allow students to have an enhanced educational experience and make reading rock.
