A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students are eager to learn. They represent multiple cultures and many hard working immigrant families. They live in the resort towns of Cape Cod where their families often work in the service industry. We have very limited tech access, and adding tech will accelerate their learning success.
My students are energetic, eager to learn, diverse, and dynamic.
Their families represent multiple cultures including those with long histories in the United States dating back to the first Americans to the Pilgrims and then to early immigrant and migrant groups. Other students represent more recent immigrants from Jamaica, Brazil, Trinidad, India, and multiple other countries. Their families work in a large diversity of industries in our resort community of Barnstable, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
My Project
Students will use the Chromebooks to access personalized learning programs such as Tynker, Khan Academy, That Quiz, Xtra Math, IXL, Google apps, SCRATCH and more to invigorate their learning and gain access to contemporary tools. Right now, they don't have this kind of access on a regular basis and this is putting them behind their peers in wealthier towns that have greater access. They are ready and eager for these computers.
This project will make a difference because it will teach children how they can use technology to further their education in dynamic, successful ways.
Currently their learning is slowed down considerably due to their lack of consistent access to technology.
