My Students

How can we make sure that our kids are learning to be creative thinkers in a world of global competition - and what does that mean for the future of education in the digital age? Computer games can help teach kids to build successful futures.

I teach in a high poverty school located in a rural county of East Tennessee.

The majority of the school's population receives free or reduced lunches. My students need many opportunities to use technology in the classroom. Many will come to first grade with very little, if any, computer experiences. It is my desire to create ample opportunities for learning through technology.

My Project

I am requesting educational software from Lakeshore Learning to use in my classroom. This software will provide ample opportunities for my students to learn new skills in math while interacting with the interactive whiteboard. Students will review skills in math, language, and reading.

Children today are raised in a very visual world.

The use of technology in the classroom is vital to gaining the students' attention. They will be immersed in a very visual way to learn while "playing." My students need educational software to provide fun and interactive ways to learn new skills and review skills already learned. « hide
