The Internet has provided a plethora of skills and job options that didn't previously exist. I want my students to see the learning and employment opportunities that might be right at their fingertips.
GRF is a financially strapped school district that is existing during financially strapped times.
This town has seen its share of trial and hardship, but there is an increasing optimism in the school. I am hoping that this might ignite a passion for the opportunities that might await many of them, without the need of moving miles away.
My Project
I am a huge fan of the Google Chromebooks. I was one of the pilot users of the original model (the CR-48). After two years of nearly non-stop use, my Chromebook is still going strong. Many schools are looking at iPads and other more expensive options, the chromebook is not only more versatile, it is a more financially realistic and workable approach for a school.
There is no way that our school will be able to purchase this amount of technology that would go right in the hands of the students.
Many schools are pulling ahead in their use of technology in the classroom. Without your help, there will still be many that go through these halls and won't be fully ready for a technology saturated culture.
