My Students
Help students make their health a priority! Our goal is for each child to see the power of exercise and that each step can make a difference.
The students are 2nd and 3rd graders who attend an Iowa elementary school.
They are excited to exercise together and are ready for this fun challenge. The students will learn about food intake or choice, the fun of exercise, and taking charge of their choices. The CATS Club participants share the goal of improving their personal health and forming daily habits.
My Project
We will exercise together as a group twice a week after school. We promote finding time each day to exercise. The pedometers will offer the opportunity to set individual goals. The students can log daily exercise logs to monitor individual effort. We will measure growth in their ability to perform aerobic activity. The children will learn that every step counts.
CATS club will provide students an opportunity to be active and educated to make healthy, nutritional choices.
They will be inspired and supported from educators and community members.
It is an opportunity for students to be involved and an active participant in an after school program to boost self confidence, motivation, and belonging.
Childhood obesity is rising in today's nation. We have to take action today- one school at a time, one child at a time, and one step at a time.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
