This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Remember sitting in school with the teacher holding up a piece of paper while explaining an assignment, but you still didn't understand what to do? Remember writing a brilliant essay in class and sharing with your classmates, but they weren't able to see your brilliant work of art?

My students live in a high poverty area, and we don't have access to many resources or the latest technology.

I have some very creative students who like to write and enjoy sharing their work. However, it's almost impossible to share their writings with the entire class. On the other end of the spectrum, I have some students who need a little extra push and encouragement with their writings. A document camera will allow me to model the correct way to form and write a paragraph for my students. With a document camera, my students will be encouraged to write their hearts out and then share their work with their fellow classmates.

My Project

With the addition of a document camera to my classroom, I'll be able to show manipulatives to my students. I'll be able to model the correct way to write and form an essay or paper. I'll be able to read mentor text stories to my students, while showing them the photos in the book. I'll be able to show and go over their homework easily. This document camera will change the way that my students see reading and will really create a stronger (and more fun) learning environment. I'd love for my students to be able to share their work, and with this document camera, they'll be able to do just that!

This document camera will push my students to write their hearts out and will give them the ability to share their writing.

This will also allow my students to better understand how to complete activities and assignments while in the classroom. With your help, we can create an awesome learning environment for these students!
