This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Have you ever walked into a room and discovered a room full of reading kids? My students need more books to help crave their amazing reading appetites!
I have been teaching first grade for the last 6 years.
Throughout the years I have been able to grow my library, but it never seems to grow as fast as my students' desires to read! My first graders always love their reading time, whether it is independent reading or a read aloud on the carpet. I teach at a wonderful school that focuses on teaching through inquiry. Our students work hard despite the numerous challenges they face.
My Project
I would love to help build our class library even more by adding lots of new books by our favorite authors! After I read a book aloud, the kids love to add it to their bag of books. Having these copies of our favorite read alouds by Eric Carle, Mem Fox, Lois Ehlert and Kevin Henkes would allow the kids to have copies to read during their independent reading time too!
Please help build my students' reading skills by helping us get lots of new books for our classroom.
They will be able to fall in love with fabulous authors like Eric Carle, Mem Fox, and Patricia Polacco!
