Do you remember your first "Ah-hah" moment, the moment you sat in someone's class and understood something you never understood before? My students are curious about the world around them and have learned that the interdependence of living things makes their world beautiful.
My students are curious and hardworking; when they are exposed to a new concept, they are completely amazed and ask questions to gain a deeper understanding of the material.
This year, when students learned about ecology in our life science class, they participated in a Socratic seminar where they discussed how important plants are in our ecosystem. We are excited to celebrate Earth Day because our community needs a lot of work and we are ready to get our hands dirty.
With your help, my students will be able to plant the amaryllis bulbs together on Earth Day in celebration of the ecosystem that we enjoy each day. With proper care, we want to use these perennial flowers as subjects of observation in the years to come. Students recently learned about cross-pollination and self-pollination and were very curious about flower structure and breeding. Your donation would help our students better understand this process and become more invested in taking care of the earth.
My students' lives are changed for the better every day when they enter our charter school.
With your help, my students will have the opportunity to positively contribute to their community, learn about the benefits of taking care of our earth and learn about flower structure both now and in the future.
