it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My classroom library needs help! It lacks books both in English and Spanish. Help me build my classroom library to make it more appealing to my students' interest so they enjoy reading and become good readers as well as writers.
I teach fourth grade bilingual/self contained at a high poverty Title 1 school, and my students receive free or reduced lunch.
They come from different reading backgrounds but usually struggle to find the joy in reading because they don't always have the opportunity to pick books that are at their reading level and interest. When one good book is added to the classroom library, it is priceless!
My Project
The books that I have chosen are of high interest to 4th graders and I know my students will love reading them! They will love talking about them during our book group discussions acquiring greater self-confidence as a reader and expanding their vocabulary repertoire. These high interest books will also help my students become better writers as their interesting books capture their imagination with wonderful characters and new worlds with amazing words. Students will start to emulate these great writers that will inspire them for greatness! I believe that one good book can change everything even for the least experienced, most reluctant reader, helping him find the joy of reading and becoming a good reader as well as writer.
I would love to build an exciting reading environment for my students so they become good readers and writers.
Your generosity will enable my bilingual students to have a variety of books from which to choose during their independent reading time. You will be helping a student directly by putting a book in his or her hand!
