This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a new teacher, I want to create an environment that is vibrant, colorful and most importantly suitable for the needs of my students. I want to be able to give all my students the best experience possible, but I need your help!

I am an elementary school first grade teacher in a high needs school in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

This is my first year as a teacher and having a classroom of my own. My students come from diverse cultures and economic backgrounds. My first graders are curious, eager and hard working learners. These students not only learn from their teachers, but from each other.

My Project

We are halfway through the year and we are running low on basic classroom supplies. My students' families struggle with being able to provide the necessary materials in the classroom for a successful school year. In order to provide the best education for my students, we need supplies. The requested basic supplies like folders, crayons/markers/colored pencils and most of all paper are necessary to help my students succeed during the school year.

It is important to me to be able to provide students with the materials to enhance their learning.

It is important that students have all they need to help them have a successful school year. Without basic classroom supplies it is very difficult to provide students with the proper to tools that will help enhance their learning. It is my wish to provide students with everything and anything that will enhance their learning and by supporting this project you are helping me best help my students.
