A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
The students in my class work with their kindergarten buddies once a week where they do art projects. Working with their buddies they work on building relationships, helping to foster language and building team work. However, it is difficult to do art projects without any art supplies.
The 22 students in my class are 3rd graders who are extremely hard workers and who are former English Language Learners.
My students are still working to acquire language. The students are growing up in a high needs, low income community in Long Island City.
My Project
With the paper, paint, craft sets and glue I am asking for, my students and their kindergarten buddies will be able to create wonderful crafts to decorate the classroom that will represent the seasons. The students will also be able to learn unique art skills. Students will be able to create murals and gifts.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
With your assistance students who do not not generally have access to creative art supplies will be able to create projects and memories. With your assistance kindergarten and 3rd grade students will develop friendships in a crafty way. Thank you!
