it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

"Now when he was a young man he never thought he'd see (King Tut)
People stand in line to see the boy king (King Tut)
How'd you get so funky (funky Tut) ..."
Can't you just see Steve Martin singing it? How wonderful it would be to bring this ruler and ancient Egypt to "life" for my students!
I have the pleasure of teaching a fantastic group of sixth graders this year.
They are enthusiastic and funny! I am constantly laughing because of their quick wit! My students are motivated to learn when I provide interesting and engaging lessons. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area. 100% of our students receive free lunch.
My Project
I would like my students to learn more about King Tutankhamen, Queen Hatshepsut, and life in ancient Egypt. To incorporate art into our Ancient History curriculum, I want to give my students the opportunity to make their own model of an Egyptian relic. They may choose to create a mask. Maybe they would rather design an amazing ankh. Another choice would be to draw stunning hieroglyphs. There are really endless possibilities!
By creating their own masterpiece, my students' understanding of ancient Egypt will become concrete and encourage them to learn more on their own.
Your donation will enable my students to express their creative talents.
You will make it possible for them to learn more about ancient Egyptian art, what was made, and what the items represented. This project will have an incredible impact on my students' learning and hopefully their quest to keep learning!
