We LOVE to challenge our thinking! We love to read, create, analyze, and question. I am so excited when my students come running up to me to say look what I did, or look what I made. I want a way to share those amazing moments with the school, other students, the parents, and the community.
We are in the Chicago suburbs.
Many of my students come to me from a subsidized housing complex. These students often do not have the home support they need to be successful. Therefore, I try to build them up as much as possible. Give them the materials they need to work independently. And most of all, show them they can be proud of their accomplishments. How great would it be for these children to be able to take a photo home to their family so they can "show off" what they did that day!
My Project
I am requesting a digital camera. I would love to use it to capture my students in a proud moment. A child might create a word from play dough~I can take a photo of that. We manipulate numbers using cubes and other objects which can be photographed to teach other students. They create patterns and pictures from pattern blocks. They often want me to see, but now others could see too! I would like to share the happenings with their parents through a website and would need a camera to capture those learning moments. Finally, I can use the camera to share the success of my students with other teachers through my classroom webpage.
I believe that one of the keys to success is confidence.
I want to capture those moments where the child is beaming and bursting with pride. These times can then be shared with all. My students and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your consideration to help us fund this project!
