My students need access to the learning resources available online. These three Chromebooks will double the access they have to personalized instruction on our web sites.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
A personalized education for every child should not be a dream but the standard in our schools. We are getting closer to the time where every child can actually learn to the very best of their own potential. The only thing holding us back is having enough access to the web tools we have.
Our students come from a small town in Utah.
Over half of the students come from low income families. Despite the financial challenges they may face they are resilient and work hard. I want to ensure that they have all of the tools necessary to do their best and achieve their greatest potential.
Another challenge my students face is isolation from the world around us. We live in a small monocultural community. I would like to work with other classes around the country and world to expose my students to the many cultures around us.
My Project
Chromebooks are not the end they are just an access point to the many resources we have available on the Internet. Students all have Google accounts through the school. This allows students to do everything from presentations to word processing, and to do so while collaborating. We also use IXL and Khan Academy for math. These programs allow students to learn math skills at their own pace and in a fun and exciting way. The great thing about these applications is that it helps me as a teacher see where students are struggling, so I can create small groups of students and assist them on targeted skills. There are a few other web based applications that we use to help kids and many more that we have never had time to try. The Chromebooks are an affordable and easy to maintain way to significantly improve access for students to these amazing resources.
As amazing and effective as the web resources that we use are, that is not the biggest point.
The primary reason these resources and tools help is because it allows me, as a teacher, to specifically target needed skills and work individually or in small groups with students to help them learn the skills they need.
