Field Trip to Deanna Rose Farmstead

My Students

A trip to the farm will provide an educational and sensory experience that the children in our school do not have regularly. We want to provide our students experiences that are age appropriate and will promote their academic success in the future.

Our school provides Pre Kindergarten services for both exceptional and average ability students.

Our students come from a very low socioeconomic environment in which they are not typically able to experience trips and hands-on learning in their home environment. Our school has 100% free lunch and many of our students receive breakfast, lunch, and dinner while in the care of the school.

My Project

Our students will utilize the transportation to travel to and from Deanna Rose Farmstead. The money funded will pay for our buses and drivers. Students in our building must travel safely in a vehicle that is equipped with one five point harness per student. While at the farm, our students will be able to feed the animals, tour the farm, take a hay ride, and even go fishing.

This project will make a difference by exposing students to learning in a different environment.

They will be engaged with various animals and equipment. Students will begin to understand the process in which our food is grown and processed for consumption. While at the farm, our students will be able to feed the animals, tour the farm, take a hay ride, and even go fishing. The students at our Learning Center will be given an experience they may never have again.
