My Students
I teach visual arts to over 200 tenth - twelfth-grade students each semester in a suburban Kansas City high school.
My day varies greatly from hour to hour.
I teach Photo 1, Photo 2, Portfolio/Special Projects, 3D Design, and Intro to Fine Arts. While most of what I teach is rooted in traditional forms of art, photography has moved into the digital age. A portion of my students are new to the art program, but many are working toward goals of careers in the visual arts.
My Project
During classroom critiques, students will be able to instantly create visual critique of their own artwork and that of their peers. Portfolio students will be able to photograph their work in progress and quickly make decisions about color placement and/or compositional changes.
Communication and critique are critical for all those developing a sense of personal style or for understanding at all levels.
The iPad will give my students the ability to critique in an all class setting.
