A typical day in my classroom includes a lot of learning with hands on materials. My students do a lot of cooperative learning and they love writing on dry erase boards. I have started differentiated seating I'm my classroom and it was a HUGE success.
My students like to pick their seats.
They love having the flexibility to pick a seat that suits them well. They are very responsible with their choices and they are more engaged when they have special seating. I have many students in my classroom with special needs. I want my students to feel comfortable and safe in my classroom.
My Project
My students will use the dry erase boards to participate in many learning activities across all subjects. They will also use them for fast math and during independent and guided practice games. The seating will be used daily in the classroom. They already have yoga balls, stability discs, and pillows. I'm really hoping to add more choices for them to all feel comfortable while learning.
This project will make a difference in many ways.
With the seating that I already have in place, I have seen dramatic changes in behavior, maturity, and educationally. My students tests grades have also improved. I really want to continue the growth that I have seen from my last project and would love to include more seating and dry erase boards to make my students more engaged throughout the long school days.
