My students need tri-fold boards, markers, pipe cleaners,construction paper, scissors, and foam letters to complete their Remembering Famous Missourians project.

My students are from a very rural area and they wouldn't change anything about where they live.
My students have a drive to learn as much as they can each day, no matter the challenge. My students come from a district where our free and reduced lunch rate is over 80% and most of them do not have the basic necessities needed, but this does not stop them. They have proved their passion for learning by overcoming many obstacles and being named first in our conference in student achievement. Now it is time for these curious students to take their passion for learning and use their creativity to research the people who have helped shape the state in which they live.
My Project
My students will use these materials to create a display over a Famous Missourian. Students will use the markers, scissors, foam letters, glitter glue, chalk markers, and construction paper to create headings on their board to organize their tri-fold display. These attractive headings will draw people to specific information when reading their boards. All of the materials will be used to decorate their board according their Missourians life. The will use the markers, glitter glue, and chalk markers to draw scenes from their person's life on the board too. The project materials will provide my students with a different method for presenting information. This will tap into their creative side, letting each individuals creative side stand out.
This project will provide my students with an opportunity to discover what amazing people Missouri has had and how they have changed the world we live in today.
They will be provided with the materials to display their Missourian in a way that brings out their creative side. Students need to learn about successful people from their state. Who knows, it may inspire them to do something great for our world one day!
