My Students
My students are in Kindergarten. They are learning so many new things this year. Sitting still is hard for any kid that age so why not create an environment where students have choice and can move. These new seats will provide students with opportunities to do their learning while moving.
My students will be energetic 5 year olds that are experiencing school for the first time.
The school is an IB school and participates in the primary years programme. These students are excited to learn and will be an inquiry learning environment that provides so much opportunity.
My Project
The students will use the new seating when working throughout the day. They will be able to do their learning in a comfortable environment and in a seat that works for them. Many students are very wiggly and need a chance to move. These new seats will provide this movement for them. The students can move but be learning at the same time.
My project will make a difference by improving my classroom.
I am moving back to teaching kindergarten after being a reading specialist. I am excited for this journey and trying to prepare a classroom that promotes success for the students. I want the classroom to be a fun, safe, and successful environment.
