My students need 12 Chromebooks, 12 wireless mouse sets, headphones, and a Chromebook cart to use with Code.org, Google Classroom, typing final drafts and research.
Today, we live in a world where we have access to the world with the touch of a button. Students can explore the world without leaving the classroom. However, if technology and resources are not made available to them they will be powerless. I want to give my students that power at their fingertips.
My students are eager to learn and explore the world around them.
My goal is to instill a love of learning in each student. I believe in each of them, and I want them to believe in themselves. Our school has four-day school weeks to save money for our district. With this, our school days are longer. Our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch for every student, every day. I am very proud to be a part of this school and want to see these students succeed. They live in a rural county with limited access to many things most of us take for granted.
My Project
Students will be learning to code using Code.org, how to use Google classroom, how to research appropriately, how to use simulation in science and become 21st Century thinkers and learners. This will make our classroom 1:1. We share a cart with the junior high and high school right now. However, these Chromebooks are getting older and some do not work well. Having the ability to have our own cart that stays in our room would increase so many opportunities for students to excel technologically. My students need 12 Chromebooks, 12 wireless mouse sets, headphones, and a Chromebook cart to use for storage in our classroom.
Collaboration, creation, communication, and critical thinking are very important skills for today's students.
Integrating Chromebooks into the classroom everyday will improve my students competency with technology, giving them the skills necessary for an edge on their future.
