This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Each day the students do a warm up and then followed by an activity for our four week lessons. We think the students will enjoy Pickle-Ball as an activity. Trying new sports that most students don't have exposure to puts everyone on a level playing field when it come to learning something new.
Our students range from 6th grade to 12th grade.
We offer PE for 90 minutes two to three times per week. We have many students from different cultural backgrounds. We have been trying to expose the students to different sports this year and Pickle-Ball came up and the students seem interested so now we need the equipment.
My Project
We will be able to use nets we already own. We would only need the paddles and balls to start our play. The students have already played a few paddle/racket sports this school year. The pickle ball equipment would be a great addition to our racket unit. They will learn a new game that would put all students on a equal playing field.
Students will get an opportunity to learn a new sport and a sport they could play at home.
The students will get a chance to learn a sport that most students have never played with leaves a space for everyone to learn at the same time.
