I want to involve my students in more hands-on STEM group activities. This STEM kit offers a comprehensive approach to hands-on cultivation, observation, and experimentation that my kids crave!
We are a Title I public elementary school in a large urban community in Missouri where many of our families are English language learners.
Our school is comprised of gender-specific classrooms to maximize gender based learning and teaching strategies. One of the most prominent themes in teaching strategies for boys is to get them up and moving while interacting with lessons and curriculum.
My students are a very active group and work best when involved in learning activities that include hands-on activities. In the 2015-2016 school year, I have a split class of Kindergarten and first grade boys. They love to be outdoors and this ecoSTEM kit facilitates outdoor learning activities that will engage and fascinate them!
My Project
Lesson plans this school year have focused primarily on developing and nurturing budding literacy and math skills, leaving little dedicated time for STEM learning. My students need this PolliNation ecoSTEM Kit to help encourage their growing interest in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics areas that are critical to my students' education and future.
With this kit, they will be exposed to a variety of materials and experiences that will help broaden their horizons, interests, and most importantly, their imaginations. This kit will help my students build critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, leading them to plan, create, and test their ideas in an outdoor learning environment.
