My Students
What do most five year old children have in common? They love bugs, flowers, and simply being outdoors.
I teach kindergarten in a Title 1 school.
Most of my students do not have the advantage of having a home where they can explore the outdoors. They don't have the opportunities to plant flowers outside and watch them grow or observe the insect life that helps these flowers grow. Some are lucky to have a yard to play in outside.
My Project
I am requesting 1 pollination ecosystem kit to learn about plants and insects. By having the pollination Eco system kit, all of our kindergarten students (about 80 children) will have the advantage of planting an outdoor classroom and then observing nature. They will be able to watch a caterpillar actually go through the stages to become a butterfly. They will feel like a true scientist while they learn and explore nature.
Your donation would mean that children could explore nature and learn at the same time.
Since kindergarten does not receive science materials as part of our district curriculum, you would be providing our students with advantages that they would not normally receive.
