My students need a pollination kit to teach students about the pollination process.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Durr's classroom raised $836
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students love Science! They are the most engaged when we do hands-on experiments and projects.
I teach 4th and 5th grade Science in a high poverty elementary school in Missouri.
Most of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch and many have a poor quality of life at home. Many of my students come to school to escape the situations going on at home. My students are eager to learn and love science experiments.
My Project
My students will use the pollination kit to learn about the process plants go through as they are pollinated. The kit has supplies to begin a raised bed and compost, where students can create a pollinator habitat. Students will use microscopes, bug viewers and binoculars to collect data for a Citizen's Science Project. This kit will also help my students understand the life cycle of a caterpillar, as they build a butterfly habitat and study them as they go through the stages of their life. After turning into butterflies, they will be released into the pollinator habitat that we create for them.
My students love hands-on experiments, and this kit will allow them to apply what they are learning in science to the real world.
They would be able to create a garden that we can care for and use for science instruction for years to come.
