Help us get organized and continue learning! I have a room full of students with so much potential. A "Classroom Library" would be very effective for our reading center. It's important to help students fall in love with books at an early age to continue this love through adulthood!
My students are very unique in their own ways and learn through differentiated instruction.
Our school provides free meals to all of the children due to poverty in the area. Our district works together to provide the best opportunities for each child based on their own individual needs.
My Project
My students will utilize the Classroom Library during the reading center and also during reading intervention groups. The students will be given the opportunity to choose books based on their interests and ready level. Based on some of my students reading level, they never get the chance to go to the school library and check out books. I would love to have a library ready and available to them, so they feel special as well. The iPad's will be used for Accelerated Reading tests and the headphones will be available for students who are unable to read the tests without assistance.
Everywhere you go, you read.
The books will provide the students with a chance to learn their sight words and to decode words to help them become fluent readers and increase their reading level. It will also help better their comprehension and provide a positive future for them. This will allow the students to gain knowledge from the reading material and learn from experiences they may not have the opportunity to experience in life. Motivating students at an early age will last a lifetime!
