Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Some of my students are not used to having a place to call their own. They do not know what it is like to take care of their very own things. Having a chair buddy will allow them to organize their folders, school boxes, and reading books at their own space.

In my classroom I have 21 students.

They all come from and urban background and are so very eager to please. They love to show what they know and what they have learned. Our school is in an older building which does make getting things around difficult. My classroom is on the 3rd floor and there is not an elevator. So finding creative ways to keep the students and classroom organized is difficult, but these chair buddies will be a perfect fit to our classroom.

My Project

My students will use the requested chair buddies as their own space to organize their tools. They will be able to store writing folders, take home folders, and their leveled readers at their own seat. Having a chair buddy will allow the students to locate items they need in a timely manner.

With your help my students will be able to be successful every day in the classroom.

It will allow our time in transition to be less because they will have a place for all of their things. This will help the students become better at taking care of their things.
