My students need your support to obtain 5 Chromebooks, 5 mice and 5 Chromebook Management Licenses to help us continue our transition of creating an innovative classroom.
Do you have a passion? My passion is teaching and preparing my students for the future. I have been a teacher for 12 years and have seen many changes in education. The latest being an emphasis in technology in the classroom, and the importance of preparing and inspiring my students for the future.
I have a class of 20 adventurous third grade students who are wanting the privilege of utilizing and exploring more technology on a daily basis.
Our school is located in southwest Missouri with a population of about 2,500. The school is limited in funding for Chromebooks. My class shares a set of Chromebooks with other classrooms limiting our access to them on a daily basis. When given the opportunity to use technology, my students become excited, engaged, and their creativity is limitless. They do not rely solely on the Chromebooks, but use them as a tool to enhance their knowledge and to take ownership of their learning.
My Project
These 5 Chromebooks, 5 mice and 5 Chromebook Management Licenses to use on a daily basis, will help my students to have an experience in the classroom that will open up paths and extend boundaries. Students will be researching and creating projects with more individual choice. They will have the opportunity to share their knowledge with a wider audience through online sharing. Enrichment activities will extend their learning on subject matters and concepts. The level of collaboration and immediate feedback will increase.
As of now, my classroom is an atmosphere that cultivates learning and student growth.
Adding 5 Chromebooks to my classroom will help increase a growth mindset and encourage independent ownership of learning where students are excited to share their ideas and new-found knowledge with audiences in their classroom, community, and world. At the same time, it will provide them access to information and ideas that would otherwise be limited to our small town.
