My students need hands-on materials for math and science. Items like Multiplication Spinners, Dominoes, and Dry Erase Markers help my students get rid of worksheets.
Repetition is a major element to mastering learning in math and science. In order to perform higher level thinking and problem solving strategies, my students need to be able to perform more hands on activities.
My students are amazing learners not limited by their poverty, but driven by their passions.
Our school is currently 93% free and reduced lunch. We have an amazing caring community in the heart of a major city. My class is currently loving math and science! We enjoy learning with our hands, however our supplies are limited.
My Project
During our math and science blocks, students will be able to get rid of worksheets and use their hands to solve a variety of problems from fractions to multiplication to measurement with the Multiplication Spinners, Dominoes, and Dry Erase Markers I am requesting. Simply changing from a pencil to an Expo marker is an amazing transformation from boring work to energized excitement! Students will use the dominoes and other games during math rotations. The thermometers will be used on explorations inside and outside of the classroom. Expo markers will be used on a daily basis to keep learning fun!

When handed a pencil and paper, learning is boring. I want to take away any chance of a boring classroom and replace it with hands-on, exciting learning opportunities. I am excited to give them as many active experiences as possible.
