My classroom is fun! I teach reading and com arts to about 60 6th graders daily. I want learning to be fun and educational for them. I remember hating to read when I was in middle school and want something different for my students. They love to read around my room and not have to stay in their seats
My students are great!
They love 6th grade and are learning to be middle school students. I love the excitement they show when they enter my room, looking forward to what's next! I want them to enjoy reading and hopefully instill a love in it that lasts a lifetime! This is something I didn't have growing up. We weren't allowed out of our seats. I love that they love to be all around my room and try to be comfortable as possible sitting on the floor. I know its difficult and hope to change that! I use a lot of my own money on books and other supplies, but hoping I can help them enjoy reading even that much more!
My Project
While, I know it seems weird that I may be asking for help with bean bags and that they are not necessarily a requirement. It would truly help my students! The more students read, the better vocabulary, and comprehension they will acquire. I want them to be excited to read, and comfortable which in turn keeps them enthralled about reading! I let them enjoy the books they choose for themselves and they love to stretch out and enjoy a book! These bean bags would make a great asset to my classroom!
It will hopefully, instill a love of reading long pass the classroom!
That is my goal, by allowing them to read around my room and be outside the norm of their seats! Their little faces just light up every time I tell them they can read around the room! This excites me and I love to see the excitement about reading abound from them! There just isn't enough "comfy" things in my room for them to utilize, that is why I am asking for your help! Thanks!
