My students need Frito-Lay Classic Mix Variety Pack, General Mills Motts Fruit Snack, Welchs Mixed Fruit Snacks, Rice Krispies Treats 3-Flavor Variety Pack and Stauffers Original Animal Crackers.
Every day I have students come to me hungry or having skipped a meal. I have saltine crackers to give them for their hungry stomachs. I am needing healthy snacks to give out as an alternative to hunger. Many come in late and simply skip their breakfast.
My students are in a high poverty area and do without many things.
Meal skipping should not be one of them. Items to handout to the hungry ones here would be ideal. Many of my students do not have time or want a BIG breakfast item or lunch item when they come in late. A small snack to pass out would help the empty stomach feeling.
My Project
My students would enjoy eating a quick snack on the way to class. Fruit snacks are ideal for mornings and chips or rice krispie treats for the afternoon. The growling of their empty stomachs is hard to concentrate over when sitting in class. Many enjoy school and want to be here. they will not ask to go get a missed meal and miss more class time.
My project for healthy snacks will help my students have a successful day at school.
they will be able to concentrate on academics and not how hungry they are. The small gift of a snack is a way to help them be successful and eager to learn.
