Some of my students need to manipulate items to best understand initial sounds. At the end of their Kindergarten year, scholars easily recognize initial sounds as well as vowel sounds. Having tubs of items easily accessible will make sorting and learning fun and hands-on.

They are amazing scholars who engage in hands-on learning. Kindergarten scholars love to learn through manipulation and play! They are smart, intelligent, and engaged in the community.
My Project
Sound tubs are tubs filled with objects with specific initial sounds, vowel sounds, and blends, these will be used daily in phonemic awareness and phonics instruction! Scholars will sort items, add items to the tubs, and engage in collaboration as they decide what items begin with. Words Their Way sorts are amazing resources for reading instruction!
