My second graders love creating projects and papers on the computer; however, they lack the tools they need to become engaged in this 21st century technology. The tablet charging station will engage my students academically as tablets are universal learning tools for students of all abilities.
My second grade students are fun, caring, outgoing, and creative students!
They come from diverse backgrounds from all around the world. My students love exploring new activities, learning how to work together, and building social and academic skills. They work diligently every day at our public, low socio-economic school in Missouri. They are grateful, eager, and excited to have this opportunity to get our project funded!
My Project
We are requesting a tablet charging station to use as a daily academic tool. It will create an opportunity for cooperative learning and student independence with the touch of a fingertip. My second graders will have the opportunity to conduct research, type papers, create presentations, video lessons, and complete online assessments. Additionally, students in my class will have the ability to enhance their Reading, Writing, Math, and Science skills. They will learn how to operate the technology independently, and then they will have the ability to demonstrate their learning through the use of this technology.
This project will make a difference in our class for many reasons!
To begin, technology integration is essential, especially at an early developmental stage. My second graders are eager to learn how to utilize technology in order to promote higher level thinking skills in an engaging way. The charging station will promote positive behavior in cooperative groups. With the use of the tablets on the station, my students will have the opportunity to learn life-long technology and academic skills.
