My students need flexible seating to allow for movement and ergonomics. These 3 ball chairs allow students with ADHD to move and perform in class at the same time.

My Students
Our school is working on redesigning our classrooms to allow students to benefit from flexible seating. We are beginning to add physical movement into our core subject areas to tap into the brain benefits that exercise brings. These chairs are one aspect of this mission.
Our school is a Title I school serving a diverse student population.
We are now an academy offering advanced coursework allowing our middle school students to take advanced high school classes by the time they reach eighth grade. We have transformed from a failing middle school into one of the top academic schools in our state's largest school district. Our diverse learners love their school, and it is one of the happiest places on earth.
My Project
We are re-imagining our learning environments to include flexible seating and traditional seating to match individualized student needs. These ball chairs allow students to be physically active while mentally focused. We are moving towards creating collaborative learning environments that allow students ease of movement and the ability to function in traditional ways depending on the intellectual task at hand.
We have a wonderful student body who love school, and our students have transformed in unimaginable ways due to our forward thinking and focus on traditional rigorous work.
Many students at our school spend 10-13 hours per day here. Since we are located in the middle of an area were poverty is prevalent, our students need a comfort level that may not be necessary at schools where the kids spend more traditional amounts of time.
