My students need materials for our center time. Word building stackers and alphabet stampers will help with literacy. Tweezers, tiles, and dot painters are needed for motor skills.
As kindergarten students, my class is filled with laughter and excitement every day. It is such a joy to watch my students develop and learn so much in their first year of school.
We move and play and discover new things every day. Center time is the favorite part of the day for most students.
This year, I have 23 students in my class.
My school is a small k-5 school with 2 classrooms per grade. Our school is considered to have a low income population. The students are hard working and happy. It is a welcoming and comfortable place with a great staff.
My Project
Every day we spend a large block of time learning in our centers. The materials I have requested will all be utilized during this time. It's important to have a variety of activities during center time. I would like to be able to offer my students more options. The tweezers will be great for fine motor skills, so many of my students need that help. The Magna-Blocks are a great tool for imaginative play and math reasoning skills. I've requested letter stamps as well as word building activities that will be a wonderful resource with letter and word recognition. These materials will be such a blessing in my classroom. It is important to create new and challenging activities daily for my students and these materials will help tremendously.
Kindergarten students work well in small groups.
Improving the options during center and small group time will increase engagement and learning. The more resources available to the students, the more the benefit. I am a first year kindergarten teacher and I am still needing more center activities in my room.
