My Students
You know that feeling you have when you are being held back from doing something great and its out of your control. That's how my students feel about getting college credit without laptops.
My school is in a city of about 117,000+ people with a school population of 1,600+ and is considered a Title I (low income) school.
My students come to me from all types of backgrounds from the rich to the poor and the homed to the homeless. These are the best students I could ever want. No matter their story, they get excited to learn in my classroom, always asking for more explanations on concepts to deepen their understanding.
My Project
We are asking for 2 laptops for my classroom so that we can have better access to the program we use to take our dual credit course. Currently it is very difficult to get into our schools computer lab and the building budget is not enough to get my classroom laptops. These laptops will also help us edit our video projects that we do once a semester as a review for our finals.
These laptops will allow my students to take their online College Algebra course on their schedule instead of waiting on time in the computer lab.
The laptops will also allow students access to online learning tools which I normally have to schedule computer lab time for.
More than half of students from low‑income households
