Computer science jobs are growing fast! My goal is for students to be creators and not just consumers of technology. "I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand." This project would help me reach my goal and increase engagement using Ozobots and an Osmo with iPad mini.
I have a wonderful group of gifted and talented primary students, who are excited to come to the gifted center each week!
My students are always ready to tackle a new task or thrive on challenges! I am constantly searching for new ways to engage my students in creative problem solving and innovation. I encourage students to collaborate and communicate for better understanding.
My students love to learn and love technology! I see students once a week for five hours in a small group.
My students come from many different backgrounds. They get excited about new challenges and thrive when they are given choices, and the projects are relevant to their lives. I love providing them with rich, hands-on experiences that both challenge them and complement their strengths and passions.
A set of Ozobot robots would engage my students and allow them to explore computer science through hands-on coding experiences. An Osmo and mini iPad would also allow my students hands-on learning experiences.
My Project
With these new technology tools, my students will have additional opportunities to collaborate, innovate and problem solve. STEM education gives students the opportunity to explore problems in a hands-on way. When working collaboratively students often have overcome obstacles and challenges which are important skills. With a set of Ozobot robots and an Osmo with iPad mini, students will be able to have interactive learning experiences that engage and excite them. These tools will enhance students' learning and allow me to further engage them as creators and not just consumers of technology.
Donating to this project will help to provide opportunities for students to communicate, collaborate, and problem solve while exploring robotics, new innovations, and virtual learning.
